As moms, we make sure we do all we can to take care of our family. We make sure the homework is done, permission slips are signed, dinner is made, we push for quality time with the family in order to create memories, and we make time for our spouse to keep our relationship flourishing. And we do all of this and then some without a second thought. At the end of the day we are exhausted and we forget about another very important person in our life, ourselves.
Moms you have to make time for yourself to do some of the things you want to do. While you are taking care of everyone else you can not forget to add yourself to your every day routine. Wake up an hour earlier or stay up an hour later in order to show some love toward yourself. If you do not take care of yourself, it will be difficult to take care of others because you will be exhausted and just dragging yourself through the day. When you do some of the activities you love and pamper and take care of yourself, you are rejuvenating yourself and that relaxation time will give you so much energy to be able to tackle even more mommy duties that are thrown your way.
Here are a few ideas for some unselfish self care that can go a long way in showing yourself a little mommy love:
–Read a good book or write
–Attend mommy events and make some new friends
–Go to the spa and treat yourself to a good manicure and pedicure
–Have a girls night out, hit the movies, try a new restaurant, and enjoy a good laugh with good friends
–Soak in a bubble bath
–Attend a work-out class
-Learn something new
–Start a blog, a business, or something that you can call your own
-Kick your feet up at home with your favorite snack and your favorite show
So remember to take care of yourself, and show yourself a little TLC. Self-care looks different to different people, so just make an effort to do the things you love. Make self-care your special time that’s just for you, because you truly deserve it.
