Having a concert for yourself, by yourself can make a heck of a difference when you are having a good or bad day. Make a list of 10 of your favorite songs that put you in that happy place. Sit in your own space, turn up the volume, and sing and dance your heart out like nobody is watching. Most times you need a healthy release from whatever might be plaguing you from the day, so let this be your moment to run wild, you will thank yourself later for it.

Whether it’s a new recipe you have been dying to try, a new show you have been waiting to binge, a new outfit you been anxious to put on, or a new workout, be spontaneous and do it. Keep it fresh and new with yourself. Routines can get boring quick, so spice it up when you can and keep yourself on your toes.

Sometimes you catch yourself being a yes man, even if it throws off whatever you might have planned. Stop inconveniencing yourself to please other people. It’s ok to say no if you want to. The cool think about being human is that we all have choices, you can choose to be happy or sad, you can choose to go left or go right, and you can also choose to say yes or say no. Take back your power and control that should have over your own life and decisions, and say no when you want.

Step away from the phone, computer, children, husband, business, social media, and whatever else keeps you distracted throughout the day. Disconnect from everything else and reconnect with yourself, even if only for a minute. Everything will be there when you get back, but isolating yourself for a few minutes can be exactly what you need to tackle the rest of the day the best way you can. Remember you are no good to anyone else if you aren’t good to yourself.

Inhale the positive, exhale the negative. Be protective of your energy, and the things you put it towards. If it’s not a help, it’s a hindrance. Period.

Often times we tend to play out all the things that may have gone wrong in the day, instead of focusing on what actually went well. Jot down a few things that you are actually grateful for, and learn to celebrate the small wins. Everyday make sure you find yourself moving the needle closer and closer to what you want to accomplish on a daily basis, no matter how big or small that goal is, and appreciate your process. Be grateful for another 24 hours, no matter how hectic it might be, for another opportunity to get it right.
